Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Wimentor Limited (“GehlosApp”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the GehlosApp mobile app, website (gehlosapp.com), and related services (the “Service”).

2. Information we collect
Account information. Depending on how you sign up, this may include username, display name, email address, phone number, password (stored as a one-way hash), profile photo, bio, and OAuth identifiers from Google or Facebook when you choose those sign-in methods.
Content you create. Videos you upload, captions, comments, likes, follows, reports, and similar interactions.
Usage and device data. App version, device type/OS, approximate network conditions, crash logs, performance metrics, and feature usage needed to run and improve the Service. Where bandwidth metering is enabled, we may record approximate data transferred by your device to the Service to help understand network costs and product quality — not to sell advertising profiles.
Communications. Messages you send to support or legal contacts, and optional feedback when you delete your account.
3. How we use information
- Provide, secure, and improve GehlosApp (feed, upload, playback, notifications, moderation).
- Authenticate you and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Personalize comedy discovery in limited ways (for example following and engagement signals).
- Communicate about the Service (security alerts, product updates, policy changes).
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines.
- Produce aggregated, non-identifying analytics about product health.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your videos to train general-purpose AI models for third parties without a clear, separate consent flow.
4. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us host storage (for example Cloudflare R2), deliver media, send codes/emails, or run analytics — under contracts that limit their use of your data.
- Other users when you post public content (your profile, videos, comments, and interactions visible in the product).
- Legal and safety authorities when required by law, or to protect users, our rights, or the integrity of the Service (including preserving reported content for a limited period).
- Business transfers if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice where required.
5. Storage, security, and international transfers
We use industry-standard measures such as TLS in transit, hashed passwords, tokenized sessions, and encrypted storage for media where available. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Servers and cloud regions may be located outside your country (including infrastructure suitable for African delivery). By using the Service you understand your information may be processed in those locations subject to this Policy and applicable safeguards.
6. Retention
- Account data — kept while your account is active.
- After you request deletion — account is deactivated; after a grace period of about 30 days, personal identifiers are anonymized or deleted, videos are removed from feeds, and media files are scheduled for deletion (typically within a further short window).
- Security and operational logs — generally up to about 30 days.
- Aggregated analytics — may be retained longer in non-identifying form.
- Reported content — may be preserved longer when needed for safety or legal reasons (for example around 90 days for certain reports).
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data. In GehlosApp you can typically:
- edit profile information in Settings;
- control some notification preferences;
- block or report users/content;
- request account deletion from Settings (with optional feedback).
To exercise privacy rights or ask questions, email privacy@gehlosapp.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
8. Children
GehlosApp is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age. If you believe we have, contact privacy@gehlosapp.com and we will take appropriate steps.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
The marketing website may use essential cookies or local storage needed for security and basic functionality. The mobile app uses device storage and tokens for login sessions and offline/cache behavior. We do not rely on third-party advertising cookies for GehlosApp’s core product experience.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes may also be noted in the app. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
